hi.

love is the final fight

2010, the year of…

I can not believe tomorrow is 2010’s last day. It went by so fast that I don’t even remember how it started. Luckily I’ve got my diary to help me remember..

After I read a friend’s blog I was inspired to write about what was going on in my life during every single month of this year. So here it goes!

January Since I wrote only once in January I’m not sure what happened that month. I do remember that I had a test week. It was the year after I failed and it was going really well, because I had already gone through all of that school work the year before that. Besides that.. my dad turned 51.

February Went to a Tim Hughes concert with my mother, sister and very good friend. It was really, really good. I also had a terrible cold and I was really into Relient K’s Forget And Not Slow Down. We already had been having snow since December and I started thinking about wanting to be baptised. Oh and Winter Olympics! And hanging out with my awesome friends (:

March The month of study trips at my school. I stayed in Holland, but it was fun anyway. I found out I was going to see Switchfoot for the first time in my life. My sister turned 24.

April I went to a theme park with my friend, Sharon. I remember it was really hot that day. We also decided to play sports every single day. School was still going great. I was also packing my bags to go to England to visit my brother who lived there for a few months. And I got into Fringe.

May The first few days I spent in England. It made me realise how much I missed England, and my brother. Went to Hillsong London and loved it. I ate at the pizza hut for the first time in my life. Oh and had my first Starbucks. I didn’t like it. My favourite soccer team won the cup league.

June Saw Hillsong United, Leeland and Hawk Nelson. Five days after that I saw Switchfoot. June quite possibly was the best month ever. And let’s not forgot I saw Phil Wickham too. My brother turned 22. Went to Sharon’s birthday party. First we went bowling. We ate dinner, played a game and soccer. It was tons of fun. I also passed my school year. The world cup also started and Holland was doing great. Got into Desperate Housewives, 30 Seconds To Mars and Muse.

July I turned 17. I celebrated my birthday with friends and it was lots of fun. Holland didn’t win the world cup. It saddens me. I went to Israel for three weeks. I learned to write Arabic numbers. Many other things happened too.

August Spent my first two weeks in Israel. After that I went to the Flevo Festival. It might have been the best thing that year.. Even though June already was. Met Leeland and The Afters and Kutless and other bands.

September I started my senior year. My cousin got married. I started taking dance classes. I also thought of the idea of starting night schools for people who are more awake at night than during the day.

October Senior year was/is so busy. It made October not that much fun.

November I came up with the idea to start blogging. Also had my first tests of the school year. I got into Kings Of Leon.

December Handed in my final paper. We’ve had snow since the end of November. It’s still not gone. My tests went well. Celebrated ‘Sinterklaas’ with friends and we baked pancakes. It was LOTS of fun. Christmas was fun. We got an xbox 360. Also went to my church for the second and the last time this year. It was good. Guess I wanna go to church more again next year (:

Well this was my 2010. I guess it was a year of many things.. It’s good I remember mostly good things (:

I think the finish line is a good place we could start.

Hi there!

So, maybe I should write some kind of introduction blog..

After a lot of thinking I finally decided to go on Tumblr and I think I like it. (:

I don’t think I’ll be writing that often though, I’m not good at that xD

But we’ll see.

I also have no clue what to do with my tumblr actually xD

But I’ll find out! I guess it just takes time.

Ok this is really boring xD

I guess I’ll see you around!

Bye,

Rafaela

It’s winter.

It’s winter.

The Climb

It’s a stormy Sint Maarten (Dutch holiday). My life is positively stormy today. (:
I was kinda fearing today, because it was such a busy, challenging day, but I’ve come to the conclusion that challenging is good. Once you learn to trust on God in every single situation, you’ll notice that the challenges will make you grow in ways you didn’t even know were possible. You’ll gain knowledge, wisdom, courage, experience and you’ll also grow spiritually. Your trust in God, and yourself (!), will grow and you’ll realise how much you’re really capable of.
You might think that, standing at the foot of the mountain, the mountain will be too high for you to climb, but at the end of the climb you’ll feel like you’re on the top of the world.
So, when you’re afraid of facing tomorrow, because you know it’ll be a challenge, say the words: “I trust in you, God.” And if you really do, then you’ll fall asleep peacefully and the next day will be there before you know it. And the best thing is, God will be climbing that mountain with you, being attached to Him with a rope. And it WILL be tough, but once you’ve reached the top and you’re looking back at that day, you will feel that God is standing next to you and that you have made it together.
And most of all, your relationship with Him will have grown.
And I’m telling you, its is worth it!
